Keep It Simple |
 |
This quilt pattern, Ja t'aime, uses the Keep It Simple technique
designed by Theadra L. Fleming. This technique is inspired by the weaving traditions
of the makers of Kente cloth. It involves the creation of strips, which are then
arranged in two steps to create a wonderful surprising final canvas. The "fat-packs"
are perfect for this pattern.

African Warrior |
 |
This design, by Kaye Whittington, uses your imagination along
with brightly colored fabric (scraps work well), fusible web, and embellishments
to create a one of a kind mask. This pattern is very easy to make using scraps
with no sewing until the design is complete. You'll have a lot of fun with
this pattern.

Caroline |
 |
This pattern, designed by Carolyn Bunkley, is a woman standing
with her fishing pole. It uses the raw edge applique technique and when completed,
Caroline is 42 inches long. The materials needed are fusible web, light weight
muslin, 1/2 yards of assorted fabrics for the lady (scraps work well here),
1/2 of background fabric, and freezer paper. Caroline is a lovely wall hanging
and she looks great on the back of a coat. Her full potential is up to your
imagination.

Tuckie's Zaka Style Bag |
 |
The Tuckie Zaka Bag is a great project for both the beginner and the more experienced quilter. The bag has an inside pocket which is optional or you may add another, and button closure.
The Zaka bag is also great for the more experienced seamstress because it gives exposure to using a variety of fabric types and colors in the same project. It may also give exposure to using some of the quilter's tools.
